Welcome to the UMass Digital Media Lab Media Production Studios
The Digital Media Lab is located in the Learning Commons on the Lower Level of the W.E.B. Dubois Library and features two media production studios, two extended reality rooms, and four sound rooms.
All rooms are available to UMass students, faculty and staff. In order to assure that a room is available for your group, please reserve a room. Rooms can be used without a reservation, however, you may be asked to move for a group with reservations.
Media Production Studios
Our new production rooms offer a private, sound-proof, video recording experience. Both rooms are equipped with studio lighting, cameras, mac and PC workstations (with ample editing software), one room has a full-sized green screen wall. Each room has a 6-person capacity.
Please note:
- Patrons may not reserve rooms using multiple email addresses.
- DML staff reserve the right to deny patron use of the rooms if it appears they are abusing the room reservation system.
- Please check your email after making your reservation. A confirmation email will be send to you to confirm the reservation. The reservation will not be completed without confirmation.

- How far in advance can I make a reservation?
- Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance.
- What if a group is late for their reservation?
- Reservations may be canceled if the study group has not arrived by 10 minutes after the start of the reservation.
- How do I reserve a room?

- I don't need the reservation I made. What should I do?
- If you no longer need a reservation, please cancel using the link in the email that you received confirming your reservation.
- I reserved a room but someone else is in there. What should I do?
- If someone is occupying a room that you have a confirmed reservation, please notify DML staff for assistance.
