Access, Affordability, Inclusion, and Academic Success: An Introduction to OER Online
Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research materials that are either a.) in the public domain or b.) licensed in a manner that provides everyone with free and perpetual access engage in the “5R activities'' - retaining, remixing, revising, reusing, and redistributing the resources. In addition to saving students money, OER have been proven to increase access, inclusion, and academic success for students. This workshop will act as a starting point for faculty who are interested in including OER in their courses. We’ll discuss some of the major issues higher education is facing today, explain how OER fit into these conversations, and what we can do to get started.
