The Libraries celebrate the 35th anniversary of a remarkable event that took place in the fall of 1986 known as Mass Transformation. Over four days, nearly 4,000 volunteer students and staff painted, cleaned, decorated, and landscaped the 28-story University Library. The effort added finishing touches to $2.5 million in state-funded renovations to the building, assisted by donations of cash, materials, equipment, and refreshments. It was a culmination of a campus-wide year-long collaboration among many agencies and offices.
