The Work That Reconnects Online
Join us for a special virtual sustainability event, The Work That Reconnects, based on the teachings of Joanna Macy* and hosted by Madeleine Charney, Research Services Librarian for Sustainability. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants the day before the event.
Explore a spiral journey through four stages: Coming from Gratitude, Honoring our Pain for the World, Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes, and Going Forth. This virtual collective journey will guide participants in an interactive experience illuminating how we are strong, creative, and deeply interconnected.
Madeleine Charney is a Research Services Librarian at the UMass Amherst Libraries. She is an active member of the Contemplative Pedagogy Working Group on campus and is in the process of becoming a certified Koru Mindfulness teacher (a 4-week curriculum for emerging adults).
This program is part of Climate Preparedness Week, a partnership between Communities Responding to Extreme Weather and libraries across the state, including the UMass Amherst Libraries.
*Joanna Rogers Macy, is an environmental activist, author, scholar of Buddhism, general systems theory, and deep ecology. She is the author of eight books.
