Web APIs: A (Nearly) Magical Way to Access Online Data In-Person
If you’ve ever wished you could more-easily access large amounts of data from websites, the good news is that many government agencies, news outlets, and companies have set up public Web APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to allow people to do exactly that. Web APIs essentially allow you to reach “behind” the organization’s website and access data much more directly. This workshop will be a basic introduction to Web APIs, including examples and pointers to additional resources.
