Wikipedia is a priceless resource and one of the most frequently visited websites in the world. It's also a site of contention, where culture wars play out every day in the editing of its pages. In September, editors from around the world will be contributing to a virtual edit-a-thon focused on organized labor including adding information about strikes, labor law, union busting, and more, all in solidarity with the staff of the Wikimedia Foundation, who are working to establish their own union.
This workshop will provide info about what's happening with the union efforts at the Wikimedia Foundation, and we'll teach you all you need to know to get started editing today, whether that's fixing typos, adding citations, or adding new content. Please join us in showing your support for workers by contributing to Wikipedia, one of the world's most audacious collaborative efforts.
