Intro to Zettlr: Your One-Stop Publication Workbench In-Person

Zettlr is a powerful Markdown-based note taking application that does far more than allow you to build a corpus of research notes. It is also a writing tool that can handle the entire life cycle of your research papers and publications, from capturing initial thoughts and taking notes during a lit review to drawing connections between your ideas, drafting articles and whole books, and finally exporting a manuscript in the format specified by your editor, professor, or publisher. Zettlr manages links between your notes, making it easy to utilize with “second brain” note taking systems like Zettelkasten and bullet journaling. It also integrates with popular citation managers, including Zotero, allowing you to write using the full library of references you already have, and it stores your data in a format you can easily move to other applications. This workshop will cover the basics of Zettlr, allowing you to get started writing, citing, and taking notes with the app.
