Publishing Open/Public Access: Options and Considerations

Publishing Open/Public Access: Options and Considerations Online

If you’re curious about how to publish open access or public access to fulfill a funder mandate but have concerns about costs, copyright and licenses, publisher-author agreements, predatory publisher practices, AI abuse, etc., join this discussion about your options for low or no-cost open access publishing while protecting your author rights and reputation. Open access publications have wider and more persistent reach to potential audiences across time and geography. By “...making research products and processes available to all, while respecting diverse cultures, maintaining security and privacy… [open science fosters] collaborations, reproducibility, and equity.” (White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)/National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) definition.) In times when established knowledge can “disappear”, we’ll discuss tools to ensure your works have reach and longevity.
