AI - Copyright, Privacy, & Other Legal Issues Online
Artificial intelligence (“AI”) raises as many legal and ethical issues as it does opportunities. Should authors and researchers try to stop AI companies from “training” on their hard work? Is it even doable, legally, or technically? And is it even a good idea? What are the risks of publishing open access in the AI era? Are there opportunities? What privacy laws apply to AI tools? Do AI companies have First Amendment rights? If AI tools engage in racial profiling, defamation, or give false information, who’s liable? Whether you’re a hater or an enthusiast, come for an open discussion of the legal issues around AI tools.
