An Evening with Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and W. E. B. Du Bois In-Person
Join us for a special celebration of the composer, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and W. E. B. Du Bois, the scholar and activist. The two men were friends as well as contemporaries and shared a commitment to racial justice and a belief in the power of art to enact change. The evening will feature a performance of the Quintet for Clarinet and Strings by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and a group reading of 'The Immortal Child', Du Bois's tribute to Coleridge-Taylor from his 1920 book, Darkwater.
