Getting Started with Zotero

Getting Started with Zotero In-Person

For first-time users and those who have some experience but would like more grounding in the basics. This workshop will guide you through downloading new sources, adding sources you already have, editing source citation info, organizing your library, and using Zotero with Word and Google Docs for writing papers.

Please prepare for this workshop by installing Zotero on the machine you will use during the workshop. Check that each piece has installed correctly, including the desktop app, Word plugin, and browser Zotero Connector. Please also register for an online account through the Zotero website. If you have trouble installing Zotero, please contact the IT Help Desk before the workshop.

I encourage you to bring your machine to an in-person workshop and follow along to populate your own Zotero library but it is not required. The classroom will have computers equipped with Zotero for you to practice with. For virtual workshops, a two-screen setup is helpful if you want to follow along.

Ideal for upper-level undergraduates, graduates, and faculty.
