Using APIs to Search and Retrieve Data from Scopus In-Person

This workshop will explore using APIs to search and download data from SCOPUS, a multi-discipline research article database. This workshop will use basic Python hosted in Colab notebooks from Google. This is a basic introduction to programmatical searching SCOPUS, an article and citation database form Elsevier which the library provides for the Umass Community - https://www.scopus.com/

This workshop will include methods on how to search for author and titles to retrieve article metadata using Python in a Colab notebook environment. No previous experience with Python is required since all code will be provided in a Colab notebook. Participants will need a Google account.
